"The Empty Hills Festival" Kroogi Forum

Empty Hills (Rus. "Пустые Холмы") will soon announce the location of its 2011 rally. The music festival, typically taking place in the Kaluga Region, is Russia’s Woodstock - tens of thousands of fans and hundreds of musicians from all over the country, as well as guests from abroad, gather to share in the experience of great music, master classes, improvised showrooms, and art displays.

The organizers avoid promotion through mass media in attempts to maintain the festival’s authentic, uncommercialized feel and there are no clear-cut format or headliners. Although, prominent artists like Umka, Roma VPR & Festival Vsego NaSvete, Vyhod, and Elefant will grace the stage and certainly become the highlights of this year's event.

One of the long-overdue treats of Empty Hills 2011 will be the performance of Inna Zhelannaya. Other performers will include Yulia Teunikova, Neboslov, Uphill Work, and Xenia Fedorova's jazz-punk avant-garde rock group, Kubakmaggi. Artists will also be able to share their music on the Open Stage, set aside specifically for those, who, for whatever reasons, did not register with the festival officially.
