Varona: Giving Post Punk an Edge
Varona is a psychedelic Russian rock band whose constantly changing sound brings together avant-garde John Zorn arrangements and post punk. Formed in 2005, the band began playing locally in San Francisco before releasing their first studio album, "Varona," in 2007.
Their second album,
"Egoist" is now available on Kroogi. The 2009 release was recorded live in the studio, as to reflect the band's onstage sound. Varona is in the process of mixing their third album, so stay tuned!
